OHSC
Overseas Student Health Cover is mandatory for international students in Australia. The health care system in Australia is one of the best but the cost of treatment can be expensive. While you are enjoying your student life in Sydney, the last thing you want to worry about is medical expenses if you get sick or have an accident. It is a visa requirement that all international students have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their student visa. OSHC is insurance to assist international students meet the costs of medical and hospital care that they may need while in Australia. OSHC will also pay limited benefits for pharmaceuticals and ambulance services.
You may arrange your OSHC through agents or by yourself. SIC is proud to partner with Bupa as the leading health and care provider in Australia. Bupa offers the best quality care and servicing and offers a range of benefits to make sure your health is in good hands and you are covered in case of any emergencies. Bupa also offers a large network of retail centers in case you need to chat to someone about your membership, great discounts and member exclusive from a number of partner providers and a large doctor network. Clothing
- Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing in SIC premises.

Airport Pickup
An Airport pick-up service is available for new students arriving in Sydney for the first time. This service includes collecting you from the airport and driving you safely to your accommodation. You need to send an accommodation request form with your application to admission@sic.edu.au. Alternatively, you can also use public transport from the airport to reach the city centre.

Getting a SIM Card, Bank Account and Travel Apps
It is easy to get a SIM Card, either at the Airport or any grocery store in Sydney and a simple online registration or call to the host company can get your SIM card activated. Major banks have their branches in all suburbs in Sydney. Bank accounts can be opened by going physically in the bank or online with supporting documents. Banks have their apps that can be installed in smart phones which is very convenient. Bank Cards are mostly delivered at the home address. Transport NSW was Tripview App which assists in the schedule of train across the city. Google Maps is a popular tool for navigation across the streets.

Beach Safety
Sydney and NSW are home to beautiful beaches and waterways however they can be dangerous. We would like you to have a bright and safe experience of Australian beaches. We are concerned about the safety of our students around the beach area. They are recommended to refer to water-safety for information and resources about safety in the beach.
